How long do reconstituted peptides last?

Reviewed by PeptiLab editorial team · 21 September 2026

Most reconstituted peptides, stored refrigerated, are referenced as usable for a few weeks. The exact window varies by compound and is shortened by heat, light exposure and contamination during handling.

Once a lyophilised peptide is reconstituted with bacteriostatic water, it begins to degrade. The rate depends on storage temperature, light exposure and handling practice.

As a general reference point, most reconstituted research peptides stored refrigerated are cited as usable for several weeks, though this varies by compound. Storage at room temperature, repeated freeze-thaw cycling, or light exposure all shorten this window meaningfully.

Use the vial duration calculator as a reference point, and see our guide on storing and handling research peptides for the full handling process.
